100 Verses Every MOM Needs To Know

Is a book that I was given at a church meeting I went to with a friend earlier this month. I thought I would write a little post about every verse as I read them and share my thoughts with you.

Verse 1
For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.

~John 3:16 KJV

The Gift of Everlasting Life:

I know when I hear this verse I think back to when I was a little girl is Sunday school and I know that this is one of the most popular verses in the Bible. The book makes an interesting point, "as a thoughtful Christian parent, it's important to remind your child that God's plans are not limited to the ups and downs of everyday life." I think this is something that we all should be reminded of. God's plans are perfect whether we truly understand them or not.

To me the promise that there is something more to this life is something that is very important. It gives me hope and makes me believe that there is a purpose to this life. The simple act of believing that Jesus came to this earth to live and die for me so that I may be saved and have a chance to spend eternity with God is what gives me peace.

The Message Bible says what I am saying pretty well. This is the same verse, actually verses 16-18.

"This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person's failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him."
