I realize I have been slacking on the blogging, and I am sorry. A couple weeks ago we were able to go to Utah for my little sister's wedding. It had been three years since I had been back home and spent any time with my sister and brother. Boy, it was nice seeing them and the mountains again.
We flew in on Monday (Oct 3) and flying was definitely interesting with two little girls. Rachel thoroughly enjoyed it, she would say over and over again "we flying up up in the sky!" The last 45 minutes of the flight were a little rough, both girls were beyond exhausted and just cried. When we landed and mom met us at the baggage claim, Rachel ran right to her and gave her the biggest hug, she was so excited to see grandma again. What was great was when we pulled up into mom and dad's driveway and my sister, Rachel, was sitting outside waiting for us, my little Rachel saw her and said very loudly and over and over "it's my Aunt Rachel!" She hadn't seen Aunt Rachel in person since she was two months old but the second she got out of the car her ran right to her, jumped into her arms and gave her the biggest hug! I know that our webcam dates have definitely saved Rachel and Jonathan's relationship with my girls. And yes, Rachel responded exactly the same way with her Uncle Jonathan and Grandpa Creed.
Tuesday dad took us all on the Alpine Loop in the mountains. Oh how I missed my mountains. We were so lucky on seeing it when we did, the leaves had changed colors and it was the only day that didn't see rain the week that we were visiting. Tuesday night Josh and I were able to go out to dinner with my friends Megan and Jayme without the little buggers tagging a long. It was nice to have some adult conversation and to be out for a little while. When we got home my friend and sister at heart, Christina was there with her hubby Cory. It was so nice to spend a little bit with her. Missed her a lot, I did. We ended the night with two grumpy little girls who did not want to go to sleep. Definitely brought me back to reality that I am mommy no matter where I go.
Wednesday was a day of shopping with mom and Rachel and a work day for Josh. He saw that mom and dad's shower was in desperate need of repair and took it upon himself to fix it for them. So Josh and dad stayed home and put the shower together while the girls went shopping. Back in May Rachel bought some very cute dresses for the girls and matching purple shoes and picked out a very pretty lavender dress for me. All I needed were shoes so I figured I needed to try on the dress and make sure it fit. Sadly, it did not. I got a little emotional but all was not lost, it gave us all an opportunity to spend some time together. I ended up picking a pretty black dress (I was Rachel's Matron-of-Honor so she said I could stand out a little more and a black dress would be perfect) and grape Converse to wear. Rachel was also wearing Cons, it was great.
Thursday was kind of a blur, it was Rehearsal day for the wedding. It was kinda of fun getting together with everyone that was a part of the wedding. Learning where we were suppose to stand and what we were supposed to do. The minister, Pastor John, was great, he definitely made it an enjoyable experience with his comedic antics, ie: Saying the welcome in a Scottish Spanish accent :), and when Rachel and Brian had to say their vows it was gibberish. After the rehearsal was over my Oma and Opa came over to visit with us as well, they had driven from Aurora, CO. They had never seen the girls and Oma was so tickled to spend time with Rachel and Joleen. We all got together and had dinner at Famous Dave's. I love family time.
Friday was the big day, October 7, 2011, my little sister would drop last name Creed and gain a new one, Armstrong. That morning she got together with all her girls at Mimi's Cafe and we had a fantastic breakfast and time talking and giggling with each other. After breakfast we all got together and headed over to Salon Dante and got our and faces beautified. I hadn't done anything like that in forever, it felt nice to be all dolled up and for a very special occasion too. Then is was time to go to the venue, Le Jardin. It was so pretty and it was absolutely perfect for my sister and Brian.
Oh, Rachel Rachel Rachel. Growing up Rachel was always more of a tomboy, loved to romp around with the boys in overalls and had a short bowl cut for the longest time. But over the years she has definitely become more a of girly girly. Never in my life have I seen her as beautiful, no... as STUNNING, as she was in her wedding dress. She was and is one of the most beautiful brides.
My little Rachel was apart of the wedding for a whole minute but she was super cute. Her auntie Rachel and grandma bought her and Joleen some adorable ivory dresses with lavender sashes. Oh, and I gotta say that my man, Josh, looked mighty fine too ;)
The wedding was lovely and the reception was fun too. We weren't able to enjoy it as long as everyone else because the girlies were getting tired but I definitely enjoyed myself.
Saturday was a very relaxing day, it was almost a let down of a last day. I was supposed to go to coffee with a friend but she never called so that put off hanging out with Megan and Jayme again. We did get to hang out one last time but only for about 30 minutes because we went to dinner with my Aunts and Uncles that came out to visit. It was nice seeing them. Then the day was over and we had to pack to go home bright and early the next morning.
Overall, it was a very nice trip. I was blessed to be able to see my siblings again and my parents. I felt like I was home but not at the same time. I am praying that we get to see them all again sometime soon and not 3 years down the road.

Sweetheart, it was such a JOY having you and Josh and your little ones in our home! My, the week went by oh so fast! I'm so glad you were able to see your brother and sister again and spend some time with them, and am especially glad they were able to experience some 'aunt' and 'uncle' time too! We were all blessed to have you here and were so thankful that you could be such an important part of Rachel's wedding!
I LOVE the way our bathroom looks now! Josh did a wonderful job of putting our shower together! That was a true blessing!
I hope, too, that it isn't another 3 years until we all see each other again! We so love you and your family!
