My Little "Dada" Girl is 8 Months Old!

 

How is she 8 months old already? I swear I just had her yesterday but she is sitting on her own and feeding herself so she obviously wasn't born yesterday.

Her little personality is starting to shine through. I love watching her learn and interact with her big sister. They are really starting to show to each other that they do love one another. Joleen always goes after Rachel's things and just wants to be apart of what she is doing. Rachel loves her little sister dearly. They make each other laugh all the time and everyday at least once Rachel gives Joleen a big hug and says "I love you". It just melts my mommy heart especially when I know what the special bond of having a sister is like.

Joleen is just becoming this little independent and driven baby. She wants to do everything herself and wants to do it now. She is SOOOOO close to figuring out how to army crawl. She will do one crawl and then give up but I know before too long she is just going to be everywhere. She also thinks she has to help me with everything. If I am at the computer she tries to pull herself up so that she can "help" me type and grabs the mouse and starts pushing the buttons, it's really cute.

This last month has just been amazing in watching her personality blossom. Joleen has figured out how to "mama" and "dada." I had a feeling "dada" would be one of the first words she says because she has been saying "ba ba" a lot, especially when she gets excited. The only time she really says "mama" is when she is upset and crying but she will just gabber all day about "dada." I love listening to her find her voice. There was one day when I swear I heard Rachel call for me but it was really Joleen! It's amazing how much they sound alike.

Dear Joleen,
I can't believe that you are 8 months old. I just love watching you learn and grow. One of the most amazing things to me is our nursing bond. I love how I can give you want you need from my body, I love how you hungrily latch on and wrap your sweet chunky body around me and get the nourishment that you need. Your sweet little smile and laugh make my day. Watching you figure things out is pure entertainment. Thank you God for blessing me with this sweet little girl. My life would not be complete without you in it. I love you more than you know.
