My Sweet Little One is ONE Month Old!

How is it possible that my little Joleen is one month old already? I feel like I just had her! She has gotten so big already. Last week I had an appointment at the WIC office to get reevaluated since she was born so everyone got weighed and measured. Rachel is 27 pounds and 35 inches tall and my little Joleen is 8 pounds 3 ounces and 21 1/8 inches long already, I'm sure she's bigger now. It felt so good to know that Joleen is growing so well because of me. She is such a good little eater. It seems like all I do is feed her, change her diaper, and watch her sleep. But that is the life of a newborn.
Even though she sleeps a lot, Joleen is starting to wake up more during the day. I love her little look of concentration. She goes cross eyed and puckers her lips in the cutest way. (I keep trying to get a picture of her doing this and she stops the second I click the camera...I will get it!)
I am trying to remember when Rachel started smiling. There are times when I think Joleen is smiling at me and then I realize it's just a gas bubble. :) It's definitely different watching Joleen grow up then when Rachel was little. With Rachel, she had my undivided attention, I could just stare at her and watch her grow in my arms. With Joleen I have to share my time with her and Rachel. There are times when I wish I could just hold Joleen and get lost in her cute little eyes, take in every little thing about her but that's hard when there is a toddler who wants your attention as well.
One thing that is different with Joleen that I didn't have to deal with with Rachel is a binky or pacifier. Rachel didn't want anything to do with one and Joleen loves hers. She has to be sucking on something all the time. For a while I thought she was super hungry (and yes I know breastfed babies eat more often than formula fed babies) but I soon caught on to when she just wanted me as a pacifier. I think I was over feeding her sometimes as well because she started to spit up when she hadn't done that before (and yes I know babies spit up). I do think she looks pretty cute with the binky in her mouth. So instead of dealing with a bottle I am going to have to deal with the binky when she gets older and I am quite fine with that.
Life with two has definitely made the time fly by quicker than I thought it would. I just hope it doesn't fly by too fast. I love watching Rachel come up and kiss her sister just because. I love that she wants to help mommy take care of her all the time. I love that she wants to hold her and love on her little sister. I pray that it stays this way and that they get to experience what an amazing relationship sisters can have, like what I have with my sister. That is my prayer for them.

Dear Joleen,
How is it possible that you are a month old already? I feel like you have been here forever already and yet I feel like I just held you in my arms for the first time just yesterday. I love watching you grow, I can tall that you have grow already and I am truly amazed. I love watching you try to focus on the things all around you. I love it when you hold my boob or my fingers when I feed you. I just love everything about you. I thank God everyday for you. I love you with all my heart.
Love, Momma
