I can't believe that my little girl is now one! I still remember being pregnant with her and wishing she would show up early...and she did, waking up to wet pajamas because my water broke, and 9 hours later the second most beautiful baby came into this world.
For Joleen's birthday we didn't do anything special. Daddy had to work late but mommy still made it fun. We ordered pizza and played games and cuddled, like we always do. When daddy came home he surprised Joleen with a cute little stuffed kitty cat, she loves it. I know in the future we are going to definitely do something special for her birthday, being so close to Christmas I want her to know that she is special and we do care and not try to clump her birthday and Christmas together. I still cannot believe she is one!
Oh my sweet little baby, how is it possible that you are now graduating from babyhood to toddlerdom. You have been the sweetest, fun lovely, little thing and I can just see your little personality and attitude showing up. You just love to laugh and smile and pick on your big sister, that brings you a lot of joy :) You are my little eating machine, I swear you could eat all day and night if I let you. We are still enjoying one of my favorite things, breastfeeding. You still love to nurse and snuggle when you wake up and are getting tired and I look forward to those moments. That is one thing that I am not looking forward to ending but I know the end will be here soon. Having been able to supply you with nourishment this long has been a huge blessing and something that I never thought I would be able to do after the troubles I had with your sister. I am so thankful that we have been able to have this bond.
Going on with your cute little personality, you have one heck on and attitude on you.One minute you are happy as can be playing with your toy and something will happen, Rachel or mommy or daddy will take it away from you and you let the world know that you do not agree! I can foresee and year full of temper tantrums from you, throwing your little body on the ground and yelling, sitting back up and grabbing the nearest thing to you and throwing it halfway across the room! Goodness child! We will be working on that for sure.
You are so close to walking it's crazy! You love to hold on to out fingers or pants and walk with us. You have taken a couple steps on your own but I know you are still working on your balance. I have a feeling in the next little while you will be running right beside your big sister. I think because you have been so busy figuring this walking thing out that you haven't really been all the interested in talking. You say "mama" and "dada" and that's about it. BUT, you have been figuring out a lot of new sounds lately, it's really cute listening to you babble.
I love you more than you know, my sweet little Joleen. I have been blessed by you in so many ways and I know that this next year will be just as amazing. I love you, I love you, I love you.
