Week 37 - Getting Excited!

I had my 37 week check up at the doctor today and I am pretty excited! So last week when I got weighed I was at the peak of when I had Rachel, this time I lost 4 pounds, so it makes me wonder if I had a bunch of water weight or something. Last week I was 1 centimeter dilated and still really tight, today I am almost 3 centimeters dilated and 50% effaced! I am farther along than I was with Rachel this time! I really wonder if my gut feeling of having a Christmas baby is going to happen. I also went ahead and scheduled an induction for the 28th of December. It's not just so we can have the tax break, it will really help to have her this year, but because I am just so ready to have her in my arms. If I hadn't progressed the way that I have this past week I would not have scheduled it. I don't want to make my body do something that it's not ready to do. I have a feeling that I am not going to need the induction, especially if my body keeps doing what it is.

So I guess all my complaining about the Braxton Hicks contractions was for not, they really are doing something. I had noticed that I am starting to have a little bit of a mucusy discharge, so I wonder if I am going to lose my mucus plug soon. If I do that then I will go into labor very quickly, at least I did with Rachel.

This just makes me so excited. It's like a reality hit. I am definitely going to be getting my hospital bag ready this weekend and Rachel's overnight bag ready as well. You never know, I could have Joleen any day now! Eek! I know Josh is very ready for this baby to be here as well. I snore really bad the last month of pregnancy and having a little bit of a head cold isn't helping. I have been snoring so bad that he hasn't been able to get much sleep this past week. I hope she comes in the next couple days just so he can sleep again. I feel bad.

Dear Joleen,
We are to the final countdown of being able to hold you and we are excited! Daddy is getting excited too and I know your big sissy is excited as well. She loves going to the doctor with mommy to hear your heartbeat. Rachel loves to kiss my belly and hug her sister. I am so excited to see how you and big sissy are going to get along. I know I am going to miss all your lovely little kicks and wiggles but I am SOO looking forward to kissing you and holding you. I love you and am very anxious for the day you come to join our family.
Love, Mommy
