Weeks 26 & 27 - 3 Hour Glucose Test & Braxton Hicks

Last week I thought I had passed my 1 hour glucose test but I did not. I got a call from the Dr's office and I had to go in on Thursday for the 3 hour test to see if I had Gestational Diabetes. Thursday morning we were there at 815 for the first blood draw. They had told me that I didn't need to stay in the office the whole 3 hours as long as I was there every hour for the blood draw. The office is close enough to the park that Rachel and I went to the park while we waited for the test to be over. I think that made the time go by quicker and allowed Rachel to be in a good mood that day as well. When 1130 came I was starving and could tell that I was going to have some major bruises once I started healing. One time they missed the vein and I did get a nasty bruise from it. After we left the office I was shaking because I was so hungry and I pretty much inhaled my lunch I got from McDonalds, it tasted so good! So yesterday I called the office and asked to find out what my results were and I PASSED!!!! Yay! I don't have Gestational Diabetes! I was so worried because I had it last time with Rachel. It is definitely a relief knowing that my body is doing what it needs to help create this beautiful new little life.

This week I have been battered by some many Braxton Hick contractions it's crazy! I really don't remember dealing this these as much when I was pregnant with Rachel. Sunday night was a bad night. Josh is apart of a bowling league on Sundays so we were at the bowling alley and Rachel has pretty much grown up there so she runs in like she owns the place. That night she was extra hyper and running all over the place. I think we were there maybe an hour and I had been running after her when I started getting hit by the unwanted tightening. It would come and go and then it came and decided that it wanted to stay. Josh asked if I wanted something to eat and I thought I probably should, maybe it would help calm my body down a little bit. Nope, for the rest of the night I had this tightening, it almost got to the point where I was wondering if this was something more than practice contractions. It wasn't really hurting but it was starting to become painful. The crazy thing is the second we got into the car to go home it stopped! Josh was wondering if maybe it happening because I was doing too much. I think that might be part of it. This is one part that I don't like too much about being preggers. Oh well. I do love how much more active this little one it getting though. I swear she was attacking her umbilical cord the other day. It was great.

Dear Jolene,
I love you and that's pretty much all I want to say! You are so loved and I am patiently waiting for you to come. I think your sister is starting to get excited about you coming too. She asks about you a lot and gives mommy kisses on my tummy for you. Stay strong and active my sweet little girl. I love you bunches.
Love, Mommy

Hi Sweetheart,
I am so glad the glucose test back negative!! What a big relief for you! I can't believe how quickly this pregnancy seems to be flying by! I guess this is the time when braxton hicks could start bothering you! It may have been, too, just because you had been running after Rachel so much that the activity made your stomach want to tighten up! I wish I could be there with you during these next months! I would love to help you out, love on Rachel, take care of her so you and Josh could have a date togher, and be with you during delivery! Gosh, I wish there weren't so many miles between us! I love you so very much!
