23 Months - The Birthday Countdown Begins!

I can't believe we are only a month away from celebrating little Miss Roo's 2nd birthday! It seems like the time is just flying by!

Rachel is getting bigger and bigger everyday it amazes me at how much of a little kid she has become, no longer my sweet little baby. Some new words she has figured out this month are:
  • button (2 syllables)
  • stuck
  • yucky (sounds like ducky)
  • potty
  • apple (well it's bobo)
  • good boy
  • hey buddy
  • stop!
  • mine! (my least favorite new word)
  • let go
  • I'm gonna get you!
  • doggy
She is becoming a little smarty pants too. She has figured out how to turn on and off and control a remote control car that Josh has. When I use my deodorant she lifts her arms up asking for some. Now when she brushes her teeth she turns on the faucet and rinses out her brush and turns off the water. If she can't reach something she will grab on of her toys (i.e. her little car/walker) and stand on it to get into the drawer or whatever she is wanting. Her new favorite thing is watching Disney DVDs and putting them into the player and pushing the play button. She attention span has grown tremendously too! I really think she would do good at a movie theater.

I used to put all of Rachel's old baby toys in her Bumbo seat but now she loves sitting in it again. I am surprised that she fits but she fits perfectly! I also had a little Tinker Belle chair that I stored stuffed animals in and she has now dumped all of them out and is sitting in it. I guess I really need to find a toy box for her.

This past week, Rachel has been asking to use the potty. She hasn't actually done anything on it but there are times when she pushes like she wants to but nothing. Or she will ask to go potty right after she has already gone in her diaper. I think we might be getting close to the potty training time. I got her some pull ups to see if that will help her but I don't know, we'll see.

I just can't believe how big she is getting already. Amazing.
