Week 24 - Possible Gestational Diabetes

So I went to the doctor yesterday for my 24 week check up. Everything was good except my urine had a lot of glucose in it. During weeks 24 - 28 you have to do the glucose test to see if you have gestational diabetes and I did that yesterday. Apparently I failed and I have to go to the hospital for the 3 hour outpatient glucose test to determine if I really do have it. I hope not. My mom and brother have diabetes and I found out that those who have diabetes in their family history are at a higher risk of getting gestational diabetes. I had a feeling that it would probably happen. After my appointment I called my mom and started to cry. It's kinda scary to think about. I keep having things happen to me that make pregnancy more difficult then I thought it would be, carpal tunnel in both my hands, I still get sick, and now I might have GD. Oh well, all this is for a beautiful daughter one day.

On a happier note, I am going to be able to go to Utah for my brother's graduation and my birthday. Josh won't be able to come but I get to see my family. It didn't look like it would happen but God answered my prayers and I get to go. Yay! Also, our new little kittie is adapting to our family quite well. She and Shadow are good little playmates and Sandy just loves to cuddle with you. I love it.

I hope everything works out. I'll pray for you.

I am glad you get to come home for a visit :) Too bad your hubby can't come.

I am also glad your little kitten is doing well.
