Being A New Mommie

Wow, I'm a mommie! I still can't get over the fact that there is this perfect little girl that God has blessed Josh and me with to care for. It still blows my mind. She's already 3 weeks old and I know that the time is just going to fly by, it already is.

So, the last 3 weeks have been amazing. Having our little Rachel here is such a blessing, it feels like she has always been a part of our family, it's hard to remember what it was like without her. I am still getting used to the new sleeping schedule and learning how to take care of the house and her at the same time.

Having my mom with us last month was a blessing. I don't know how I would have survived the move and being a new mommy without her. That first week that Rachel came home mom was such a great help. She would keep the house clean for me and then take the night time feedings for me. Just that alone was amazing, it was so nice being able to sleep the whole night through. I was so thankful that mom was able to spend a week with Rachel. I know that it meant a lot to her. (I really wish that my whole family could have been here.) It was definitely hard to say goodbye. I wish that Josh and I lived closer to mom and dad but I know that we are supposed to be here in Arkansas and they are supposed to be in Utah. It just sucks being 1500 miles away from each other...

Rachel is such an amazing baby girl. She is doing really well with breastfeeding, we do have to use a nipple shield though. I think we got jipped when she wasn't able to eat for the first 3 days of her life all she was allowed was a binky and I think she just got used to the plastic nipple. Even though we have to use a nipple shield she is doing great, she eats all the time! We do suppliment with some formula as well. Josh and I were blessed with a baby that sleeps well at night as well. She always sleeps for at least 5-6 hours before she wakes for the first feeding and then sleeps for another 3 hours before she is up for a while. I really hope she continues to sleep that well.

Josh is such a cute daddy. I love how he dotes on her. He loves to cover her with kisses. Last night he took care of Rachel while I went out to a movie with my friend Shannon. That was fun to get away for a little bit. Josh always looks out for me and makes sure that I am happy. God has blessed me with a great man who loves me and I don't know what I would do without him.

Well, that's about all that has happened this month. I hope you enjoy the pictures! I think she is the cutest thing ever! I just want to eat her up! Instead I just attack her with kisses.

Aww, I'm so glad things are going good for you guys. Enjoy every moment. They go so fast. Love you guys!

P.S. I don't know how much you supplement formula for her but if you want some $5 off coupons for Enfamil Formula let me know. I have a bunch that I'm not going to use.
